Story
History
Tudor's link with the French Navy dates to 1956. That year the G.E.R.S. research group in Toulon received Oyster Prince Submariner references 7922 and 7923.
Tudor became an official supplier to the French Navy in 1961 and held that status through the 1980s.
The Pelagos FXD launched in 2021. It was developed with French Navy combat divers and has a 42 mm titanium case. The caseback is engraved M.N.21.
What it brought to the industry
The FXD name means 'fixed'. Its strap bars are machined into the one-piece titanium case, so the watch only takes single-pass straps.
The bezel is bidirectional with a 60-to-0 countdown scale for timing naval navigation. WatchTime calls this unusual for a dive watch.
