Working freelance for Omega from 1959, Genta refreshed the Constellation; auction houses credit him with the C-shape case that opened the third generation in 1964 with ref. 168.009, and Sotheby's also counts barrel-cased and pie-pan Constellations among his designs.
Commissioned by Georges Golay, Genta sketched the Royal Oak in one night in April 1970: an octagonal bezel with eight visible screws and a tapering integrated bracelet. Audemars Piguet's own pages credit him as its designer, and the 1972 watch has a Tapisserie dial.
Patek Philippe says the 3700/1A took shape in close collaboration with Genta; he based the case on a liner's porthole and designed the bracelet as an integrated part of the watch.

2009
Genta worked with Patek Philippe again in 2009 to rework and update the ladies' Nautilus collection.
IWC commissioned the freelance Geneva designer to redesign the Ingenieur; he delivered sketches in 1974 with an integrated bracelet, structured dial and five-recess screwed bezel, launched as the Ingenieur SL in 1976.
Gianni Bulgari entrusted the exterior design of the 1977 Bulgari Bulgari to Gerald Genta, who turned the 1975 Roma into an analogue watch and drew its dial with long Arabic numerals at 12 and 6. Bulgari's current design head credits the watch to Gianni Bulgari and Genta together.
